Do you know the VAT rules by heart? Do compliance files hold no secrets for you? And do you enjoy proactively sharing that knowledge with our clients? As a Senior VAT Consultant at Grant Thornton, you provide support to both local SMEs and internationally active organizations.
What does a Senior VAT consultant at Grant Thornton do?
- As a ‘trusted advisor’ you will be the first point of contact for our national and international clients.
- You offer support and high-quality technical advice on VAT to a diverse clientele.
- You work on specific VAT projects in the context of implementation, optimisation, regularisation and/or screening.
- You provide assistance during VAT inspections and you guide the client through regularisations.
- You guide and control compliance files, both for Belgian requirements and for international requirements.
- You work autonomously and independently to complete your assignments. You get the opportunity to work your way up to more complex cases.
- Collaboration with team members and with colleagues of other service lines is embedded in your daily work.
- Furthermore, you support the further development of the VAT practice in our Brussels or Antwerp office.
Job requirements
What makes you the Senior VAT consultant we're looking for?
- You should preferably have obtained a diploma in an economic or legal field.
- You have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial services.
- You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You have the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You are an enthusiastic and flexible team player.
- You have a hands-on mentality and result oriented together with a great sense of accuracy and responsibility.
- You are fluent in French and or Dutch and have a good knowledge of English
- Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Affinity with PowerBI is a plus
