What does a Data Governance Lead at Grant Thornton do?

• Acting as a ‘trusted advisor’ for your clients. You advise on data strategy, governance and security. You assist our top clients and colleagues with data extraction, analysis, reporting and dashboarding.
• As a Data Governance Lead, you will help build a strategic vision and build services where data is central and can be used in all kinds of decision-making.
• You will provide guidance on all dimensions of the data governance framework and ensure that the framework is aligned with the strategic objectives and needs of both the client, and Grant Thornton.
• You will help start up a data governance team, and steer the team in the right direction, with a focus on quality, pragmatism and collaboration.
• Building bridges between business and IT is your middle name, to arrive at the right data analyses.

What makes you the Data Governance Lead we're looking for?

• You are up for a challenge and data is your passion.
• From your studies or previous work experience(s), you have built up demonstrable experience in data consultancy, data analytics and Power BI.
• You understand the demands and direction of the Belgian market and can develop the appropriate services around them.
• · You are familiar with the bigger technology players and products around data management and are able to work out alliances.
• You are willing to get your hands dirty and have the capacity to participate in operational activities in the development of services
• You are familiar with products for managing relational databases (SQL), data warehouses (MongoDB, CosmosDB, Redshift, ...) and graphical dashboards (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik Sense, ...). Knowledge of these tools is definitely a plus.
• Knowledge of data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts is a plus.
• You are communicative and enjoy working together.
• You get energized when searching for solutions. You like to unravel the mystery as quickly as possible.
• You have strong communication skills in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is also a plus.
