Join our dynamic team as a VAT Compliance Manager and take your career to the next level! As a VAT Manager, you will be responsible to manage the delivery of a wide variety of compliance services to our international clients. With your proactive approach you are also able to identify and implement future-proof work processes and (co-)develop further automation of our VAT compliance.
What does a VAT Manager at Grant Thornton do?
As a ‘trusted advisor’ you will be the first point of contact for our national and international clients;
You will assist the clients with all their Belgian VAT compliance formalities and you will play a coordinating role for foreign VAT compliance requirements and instruct our colleagues of our GT network;
In the framework of specific VAT projects, you will make VAT analysis to search for VAT optimizations, guide the client with the VAT implementation (e.g. set-up of ERP codes), and perform VAT health scans;
At the occasion of a VAT audit, you will be in contact with the VAT authorities and will guide our clients throughout the whole audit procedure (including assistance with possible regularisations and/or request for reduction of penalties);
Collaboration with team members and with colleagues of other service lines is embedded in your daily work.
Job requirements
What makes you the VAT Manager we're looking for?
You have a bachelor’s degree in accountancy/tax, finance/economics or a master degree in (tax) law or other relevant education/experience on the job;
You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in VAT compliance in a large organization or in a consulting sector
You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
You have the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
You have a proactive approach to identify opportunities and mitigate VAT risks;
You are an enthusiastic and flexible team player;
You have a hands-on mentality and result oriented together with a great sense of accuracy and responsibility;
You are fluent in English, any other additional European language is an asset;
Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Affinity with PowerBI is a plus.
